Maligayang pagdating sa Poetry Out Loud!
The words of great poets literally come to life in Poetry Out Loud. The Virginia Commission for the Arts (VCA) is excited to partner with The Wayne Theatre serving as the host and administrator of the Poetry Out Loud program. A national program sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the Poetry Foundation, brings poetry to high schoolers through memorization, performance, and public speaking. Since 2005, nearly 4.7 million students have participated in the program and committed at least one poem to memory. In Virginia, approximately 105,000 students have participated since the program’s inception 20 years ago.

The Virginia Commission for the Arts (VCA), in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation, created a two-part Poetry Out Loud “How To” Guide for poetry memorization. This is a resource for students, teachers, and organizations who are interested in participating in the Poetry Out Loud program:
- Ang Bahagi ng Gabay na "Paano" 1 ay nagbibigay ng mga diskarte sa scaffolding upang i-demystify ang proseso ng pagsasaulo gamit ang mga naa-access na hands-on na aktibidad upang bigyang kapangyarihan ang mga boses ng kabataan.

Noong Biyernes, Marso 7, ang Wayne Theatre, Waynesboro ay nag-host ng 20na kumpetisyon ng estado ng Poetry Out Loud ng Virginia. Walong mag-aaral mula sa isang poll ng mahigit 3,800 na mga mag-aaral sa Virginia ang nakipagkumpitensya para sa titulo ng kampeon ng estado. Si Nadia Shalaby, isang senior sa Fredericksburg Academy ay nanalo ng karangalan at kakatawan sa Virginia sa pambansang kumpetisyon na nagaganap sa Washington, DC, Mayo 5-7, 2025. Ang Poet Laureate ng Virginia, si Dr. Mattie Quesenberry Smith ay nagbigay ng morning workshop para sa mga kakumpitensya at nagbigay ng mga parangal kasama si EmilyAnne Gullickson, Superintendente ng Pampublikong Pagtuturo ng Virginia.
